Art-deco construction and decoration for this villa near Aix-en-Provence
For this project to decorate my clients’ entire villa, the first guiding principle was to draw inspiration from their favourite art-deco movement.
The light fittings in particular add a retro feel, as does this sofa and footstool set, with its upholstered structure.
The wallpaper comes from a major French tapestry house.
Refined lines and colours, for my customers who also wanted to feel they were in a hotel-style setting.
The second main theme was wood, as my clients wanted this warm, noble material to be the centrepiece of their home.
So we matched a dark oak wood with a walnut veneer in the kitchen and the various clerestories in the house.
The two structures were designed and made to measure, with a view to structuring the room into different, distinct spaces.
For the bedrooms, we’ve gone for a warmer, more bohemian feel, with a much more magazine-style and trendy feel.
NEWS Art&Décoration magazine has dedicated its cover to us, as well as a full report highlighting this project.
